Yes, there are no restrictions for wheelchairs.
Some of the shelters have lights and electrical outlets, this information is available on our interactive park maps. You do not need to submit any additional request for the power to be turned on. Douglas County does not charge any additional fee for using electricity in the picnic shelters.
Douglas County does not provide water access.
Setup of additional items in the park, which include, but are not limited to, bounce houses, canopies, tents etc., are permitted with prior approval from Parks, Trails and Building Grounds and is subject to an additional charge of $100/day. These temporary structures are not provided by Douglas County. Staking temporary structures to the ground is prohibited, please use only lead and sand weights to secure them.
The use of dunk tanks on the fields is not allowed.
Open fires and charcoal grills are prohibited. Gas grills and gas fire rings are allowed only in designated areas. Grills are not allowed on the tables, grass, or turf. No grease should be left after using a gas grill. Please follow current fire ban restrictions. Most recent information about current fire ban restrictions can be obtained at the Sherriff’s Office website.
According to the Parks and Trails Use Policy reservations are required for groups of 15 or more. Food trucks that serve permitted private events do not require any additional permits. Food trucks that sell concessions to the public must apply for a Concession Permit.
It is prohibited to consume alcoholic beverages on any County Facility or sell alcoholic beverages on any County Facility without a liquor license. For liquor licensing questions please contact the Local Liquor Licensing Authority at liquorlicense@douglas.co.us.
There will be a sign on the shelter showing the name and date of reservation. If there’s another group using a shelter during the time of your reservation and do not want to leave, please contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 303- 660-7500.
