Water Testing

Drinking water in the test tube for chemical and microbiological analysis

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) provides homeowner water testing for private citizens. Some private companies also test water quality.

Colorado State University’s online Water Quality Interpretation Tool can help you understand your test results.

If you have a private well, annual testing for bacteria will protect the health of your family and guests. Sampling your well water for coliform bacteria is simple and inexpensive. Contact a State-Certified Laboratory or the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Laboratory Services Division for their costs and sampling procedures.
