Every day, hundreds of public works professionals make substantial contributions to protect the health, safety and quality of life for all who call Douglas County home.
Commemorating National Work Zone Awareness Week, public servants call attention to the need to remain vigilant and alert especially when driving through areas where road construction and maintenance operations are underway.
Join us in promoting the theme of “Drive Safe. Work Safe. Save Lives.” this week and throughout the year, by sharing this Douglas County employee-narrated video and reminding your family, friends and neighbors to drive safely in work zones.
Statistics tell us that not only workers are at risk, in fact, four out of five work zone fatalities are motorists. Stay aware and drive cautiously so we all make it home safely.
