DID YOU KNOW? Ballots cannot be held or forwarded by the post office. There are options available to ensure your ballot is mailed to the desired location for any elections that take place while you are away from home.
Military – The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) allows all branches of the uniformed services and their spouses and/or dependents who are absent from the state because of a service member’s active duty to be mailed a ballot at a location of their choice. Additional organizations may also qualify. An out-of-state mailing address must be provided. Qualifying voters may receive their ballot by email, fax, or mail. Overseas – U.S. citizens who are living overseas, and whose last residence before leaving the country was in Colorado, are qualified to receive a ballot under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). If you qualify, you may choose to receive your ballot by email, fax or mail. An out-of-state mailing address must be provided. College – If you are a college student who resides in Douglas County but currently lives somewhere other than your official residence, you may change the BALLOT ADDRESS on your voter record to receive your ballot away from home. To change the address where your ballot will be sent, please click here to update your voter registration record. Remember to update your record once again when you move to a new location or return home, as the ballot for each election will be mailed to the ballot address on your record.
Snowbirds & Vacationers – Are you a resident of Colorado who spends extended periods of time away from home traveling, visiting, or staying in another location? To change the BALLOT ADDRESS where your ballot will be mailed for an election when you are away from home, please click here to update your voter registration record.
