The Seniors’ Council of Douglas County has initiated research into the availability of medical care for older adults. Upon reviewing the summary report of “The Complexities of Physician Supply and Demand: Projections From 2021 to 2036” commissioned by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), we learned there is a growing concern across the nation regarding a doctor shortage and the impact on our health care. Therefore, we feel that it’s important to hear about your experiences and to provide an opportunity for you to weigh in on this important issue to determine the need for advocacy in this area.
Seniors’ Council meetings are held the first Thursday of each month from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in various locations throughout the county. All meetings are free and open to the public.
