Douglas County works closely with organizations that provide services to older adults such as chore, handyman, homemaker, personal care and transportation. Grants allow organizations to serve older adults, allowing them to remain in their homes longer. Funds are also able to assist those who may not otherwise be able to afford services.
The majority of grant funds are made possible through Older American Act funds, and other funding sources, that Douglas County applies for through the Denver Regional Council of Governments. Typically funds are applied for a two-year timeframe. If your organization provides chore, handyman, homemaker or personal care services and you are interested in receiving grant funds to assist clients, please contact Jennifer D’Ambrosio or Allison Cutting at 303-660-7460. Please note that eligibility will need to be determined, and timing may be based on the timing of the two-year grant cycle.

Funding for older adult and transportation services is intended to support agencies currently serving residents in Douglas County, Colorado, and those who would like to start providing services in the county. All local agencies serving the older adult (60+) population, persons with disabilities, or other vulnerable adults are welcome to apply for these funds. We strongly encourage new and innovative organizations, and those that fill current “gaps” in services, to apply. Agencies may apply for funding for multiple services.
