If you’re getting married, need a passport, or have real estate document needs in Douglas County, please plan ahead.
From Monday, March 14, through Friday, April 8, the Douglas County Recording Office in Castle Rock will be temporarily relocated to the Douglas County Elections Office – about a half-mile away at 125 Stephanie Place in Castle Rock. The temporary move is necessary to maintain service while old and damaged carpet is replaced at the Recording Office.
Appointments will be required during this time for all recording services including Marriage or Civil Union licenses, passport applications, and submission of officially recorded documents, such as real estate records. Visit DougCoRecording.com or call 303-660-7446 to make an appointment.
Hard copy document research will be unavailable during the temporary relocation of the Recording Office, however copies of some documents are available electronically using the online Recorded Document Search.
Recording services are scheduled to return to the Wilcox Building, 301 Wilcox St. in Castle Rock, for normal business hours on Friday, April 8.
Remember, court documents such as divorces, dissolutions, and other court matters, are kept by the Judicial Branch, which is not impacted by this work. Visit the Colorado Judicial Branch – Douglas County.
