For Douglas County residents enduring hard times, it’s good to know that a free hot meal and more than 20 local service organizations will be available at the Strive to Thrive Resource and Service Fair, on Jan. 28 from 4-6 p.m. at Calvary Castle Rock, 1100 Caprice Dr.
This free event provides attendees with information on where to access food and clothing, medical assistance and more, while providing them with the opportunity to receive many of those benefits while at the event.
Attendees also can learn about employment opportunities, how to apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly food stamps), receive a wellness check, as well as many other supportive services.
“Strive to Thrive exemplifies the public-private partnerships we assemble that we hope will help return individuals and families to self-sufficiency,” said Douglas County Commissioner Roger Partridge. “This event provides members of our community with the opportunity to connect with multiple service providers in one convenient location.”
Strive to Thrive is hosted by Douglas County’s Community of Care Network.
