Did you discover a hidden talent or dust off an old skill during the past year? Show it off at the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo.
Enter your blue ribbon-worthy sourdough bread or family fairy garden project in the public Creative Arts or Agriculture/Floriculture competitions.
With multiple contests and age categories in 10 departments, this is an opportunity for the whole family to get involved with this more than 100-year-old community event. It’s free, it’s fun and it’s for everyone — children, youth and adults.
You have plenty of time to find a contest that matches your interests or even connect with a friend or younger family member to pass along your know-how and encourage them to create their own entry.
Creative Arts entries will be accepted in person at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Sunday, Aug. 1 and Ag/Floriculture entries on Thursday, Aug. 5.
Not quite ready to enter? Be sure to visit the exhibits throughout the Fair & Rodeo to marvel at the talents in our community — and in some cases help judge the entries!
The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo kicks off with a parade through historic downtown Castle Rock on Saturday, July 31 and runs through Family Day on Sunday, Aug. 8 with plenty of old-fashioned fun to entertain the whole family. Find a complete schedule of events, including Discovery Ranch, stick-horse rodeo, mutton bustin’, carnival, magic shows, live music, rodeos and more.
