Life of a Ballot: follow your vote’s journey through the election process

From your mailbox to the ballot drop box to signature verification and tabulation — see how your vote is counted

Posted on October 13, 2021 2021Elections

All registered voters in Douglas County receive their ballots by mail. Colorado has been conducting all-mail ballot elections since 2014 and is regarded as a national model for elections integrity, security and high voter turnout.

Have you ever wondered what happens to your voted ballot after you drop it off?

Watch this short “Life of a Ballot” video to see exactly how the Douglas County Elections office does its job to ensure that your vote counts — just like it’s supposed to.

Your ballot is secure and monitored throughout the election process by cameras, written custody logs, and bipartisan teams of election judges from your community who participate every step of the way.

For election information and voter resources, please visit DouglasVotes.com or call Douglas County Elections at 303-660-7444.

Ballots for the Nov. 2, 2021, Coordinated Election were mailed to all eligible voters beginning on Oct. 8 and you should expect them to arrive by Oct. 19.
