If you have tested positive for COVID-19, OR if you develop symptoms, follow these instructions. These instructions are for people who have been told to isolate or who are voluntarily isolating due to symptoms. A person’s residence is the preferred setting for isolation.

Quarantine is an important strategy for reducing the spread of COVID-19 after you have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Exposure to COVID-19
Exposure happens when you have close contact with someone who has COVID-19. Close contact means you have been within six feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes over a 24-hour period. That doesn’t have to be 15 minutes in a row. If you were close to an infected person for 5 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the afternoon on the same day, you’ve had close contact with someone with COVID-19
