Posted on November 4, 2021 2021

Do you have a passion for your Douglas County Libraries’ mission and vision and wish to play an instrumental role in the future successes of the library district?

The seven-member Library District Board of Trustees is accepting applications from candidates interested in filling Commissioner District I, District II and District III positions. View a map of Commissioner Districts.

Applicants for the Trustee position will have diverse skills and expertise including, but not limited to, communications, technology, finance or law. In addition, it is requested that applicants have strong business judgment, knowledge of board governance, and knowledge of Douglas County communities.

Library Trustees are appointed by the Douglas County Commissioners to a three-year term with a limit of four terms.  Each member is expected to attend regular monthly evening meetings, informal monthly board lunches, and an annual half-day retreat. Members are also required to serve on various committees with ongoing responsibilities.  Candidates are also encouraged to review Article III of the Library Board of Trustees Policies and Bylaws, “Powers and Responsibilities” for board expectations.

Applications will be accepted online through Nov. 15. For additional information, please review the details linked above or contact the Douglas County Commissioners’ Office at 303-660-7401.
