Dr. Linda Fielding, a resident of Douglas County, Director of Nuclear Medicine for Denver Health Medical Center, and Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Colorado Medical School, was unanimously recommended by the Board of Douglas County Commissioners as their appointee to the Tri-County Health Department Board of Health.

Her official appointment to the Board of Health is on the agenda for consideration by the Board of Douglas County Commissioners at their Business Meeting on Tuesday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. Contingent upon Board approval Tuesday, Dr. Fielding will represent Douglas County for the first time at the March 11 Tri-County Board of Health meeting.

Dr. Fielding received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1982. Both her internship and residency training were completed at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Also as part of her post-graduate work, Dr. Fielding received a Harvard Medical School Oncologic Fellowship in Radiology. She has been a co-author of various peer-reviewed journal articles and is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Twenty-three candidates stepped forward in response to the Board of County Commissioner’s February 4th  call for applications to fill the vacant Douglas County seat on the Tri-County Health Department Board of Health.  The top four candidates were interviewed individually on March 3 and 4, leading to the Board of County Commissioners’ recommendation.
