Sheri Davis was elected Douglas County Clerk and Recorder in November 2022 and began serving her first term in January 2023.
Davis has 25 years of experience and leadership in the Douglas County Office of Clerk and Recorder. She served for eight years in the Recording Division, twelve years in the Elections Division, and five years in the Motor Vehicle Division before being elected as Clerk and Recorder. Davis has been integral in leading the Office of Clerk and Recorder team of just over 100 staff members in creating a culture of excellence through a steadfast commitment to customer service. This exemplary service is demonstrated in a consistent 97% customer satisfaction rating in the Your Feedback Matters citizen surveys completed by thousands of Douglas County residents each year.
Davis is a Certified Election Official for the State of Colorado and has also achieved national designation as a Certified Elections and Registrations Administrator (CERA). She has served as the Co-Chair for the State DMV Legislative Committee; a member of the State Legislative Committees in Recording, Elections, and Motor Vehicle; a member of the Colorado Secretary of State Rules Committee; and Chair of the Colorado County Clerks Association Central Region Committee.
The Douglas County Office of Clerk and Recorder is the face of the county with over 2 million contacts with the public each year, including 500,000 in-person interactions. Throughout her career, Davis has worked diligently to create streamlined and innovative processes in each Division of the Office of Clerk and Recorder, partnering with all stakeholders to make taxpayer interactions with the government as efficient as possible.
Davis is a fourth-generation Colorado native and lives in Larkspur with her husband. They have four sons and nine grandchildren.
